Choose From Two Different Tracks

 Track #1: Scratch

Developed by MIT, the Scratch programming language is one of the most popular ways to start coding. Teams will collaborate and build an original project in Scratch over the course of the day.

Track #2: HTML, CSS & JavaScript

Teams in this track will utilize Mozilla's Thimble platform to use the languages of the web to develop a unique product. Thimble makes it easy to create and publish web pages while writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where like-minded people come together to develop extraordinary projects within a set amount of time. You can check out the Coding4TX December 2016 Hackathon video here: https://vimeo.com/195312443

Will there be food?

Yes!  We'll be providing breakfast and lunch. We will also have plenty of snacks available throughout the day to help you fuel your hard work.

Can I come for only part of the day?

Unfortunately, no. All participants should plan to stay the entire day. By participating in the hackathon, you will be part of a team of students building and pitching a collaborative project.

Where is there parking?

We will be sending out a list of parking options in the days before the hackathon. Stay tuned for more information!

How do I become a Coding4TX school?

Applications for 2017-2018 are closed, but our community events are open to all, with priority given to our current program schools. Applications for 2018-2019 will open in the late 2017, and further information will be posted in the fall, so please bookmark coding4tx.org and check back often!
